Mewsing Around

A random fact about me: I have a thing for beautiful houses. Since I was a kid, most of my favourite TV shows have fallen into the home design category and one show that really comes to mind is ‘Grand Designs’. Something about seeing a well designed and decorated space just makes me feel so relaxed… am I the only one?!

So, while driving around Holland Park over the weekend, I spotted the most picturesque mews off the road we were on and, without any hesitation, knew we had to turn back, park up and take a stroll along it. It turns out, not surprisingly, we found ‘Holland Park Mews’! The exterior of the houses were beautifully maintained and the floor was perfectly cobbled. As visually perfect as the floor may have been, however, as you can already imagine, my shoes did not agree with the cobbles but it was 100% worth the trouble.

Shoes aside, for the cooler summer’s day, I threw a leather jacket over a floral printed asymmetric vest to keep warm. I also love how the top flows out from under the jacket, breaking up the symmetry of the look.

Thank you for popping by and I hope you have a good rest of the week!

  1. London mews are so beautiful, and definitely wouldn’t feel right without those pesky cobbles, maybe it’s time I did a how-to post on cobbles. Great set of photos, I’m in Paris for the month and I will say I’m missing that London vibe right now.

    1. Hi! I totally agree – a mews would not be the same without the cobbles. A how-to post on cobbles is a great idea and I would love to read it! I found myself in the same situation again yesterday haha. A tip or two definitely wouldn’t harm 😉
